At MDCS we believe that God calls us to live in unity with each other as we hold on to His truth. As a parent-controlled Christian school, we have staff and families from all walks of the Christian faith, with a variety of faith-expressions, and we stand united in our goal of providing Christ-centred education, and loving our students!

The majority of our students at MDCS come from Christian families, but not all. We love and respect differences of faith and opinion and welcome those who are eager to join our community with a mutual attitude of love and respect.

It is quite common for families and students to form life-long bonds through their time at MDCS. Our school community is committed to holding each other up in times of crisis and celebrating with each other in times of joy!  We run various community events throughout the year to fund-raise for the specific needs of those in our school and wider area, as well as committing to praying for each other. Many of our families also attend local Christian churches or faith communities and enjoy building on their connection with school and church families.

In all of our educational and administrative practices, we see our school as partnering with parents as we seek to teach and guide their children. We encourage communication and will regularly provide updates on your child’s assessments and progress. We also encourage you, as the parents, to engage with the school; get involved in events, camps and excursions; attend performances; volunteer in the classrooms; commit to interviews; and connect with the teaching staff through emails, phone calls and online via SEQTA.

Our Community Relations and Engagement Officer at MDCS is always willing to hear of ways in which we can partner with you and our community. Please feel free to let us know of any community events, programs, church events or groups that you think could connect with MDCS!

Romans 12:3-13

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.  For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”
